Our name

Why the name “Shasta” Ventures?

Our firm is named after Mount Shasta, the highest peak in northern California. With a height of more than 14,000 feet, Mount Shasta is one of the largest volcanic peaks in the world. Rising dramatically from the surrounding forests and plains, it can be seen from as far away as the Sacramento Valley—a distance of 60 miles—because of its dominance of the landscape. Mount Shasta is the origin of many of the natural resources that support northern California, supplying most of the water for the region and for the five major rivers that begin at the base of the mountain.

Mount Shasta has a challenging ascent, many storms and a majestic reward at the pinnacle.

We chose Mount Shasta as a symbol for our firm, as it has many similarities to the entrepreneurial experience. It has a challenging ascent and weathers many storms but provides a great reward for those who experience its majesty.
