Our Philosophy
At Shasta Ventures we invest in early-stage technology-based and technology-enabled businesses. Because our experience spans consumer and business markets, we are interested both of these types of companies.
We invest in entrepreneurs with big ideas and a vision for how to turn those concepts into realities.
What’s important to us is investing in entrepreneurs with big ideas and a vision for how to turn those concepts into realities. Whether the idea is to carve out a new market from a larger existing market or to shatter traditional boundaries to create a new market, we want to hear about it. In fact, if the opportunity isn’t obvious, that appeals to us.

At Shasta Ventures, we believe the most exciting innovations are happening in technology-enabled businesses serving consumers and enterprises, encompassing technology used at work and technology that helps or entertains consumers in their daily lives. Some sectors we are proactively focused on are:

Stage and Size of Investments
We invest at an early stage, where we can help entrepreneurs the most—either the first or second round of a company’s fundraising. And we’re especially interested in capital-efficient businesses. An initial investment ranges from $250,000 to $6 million. We can participate in follow-on rounds for a total investment per company of up to $12 million. We’re primarily interested in companies located in the western United States, but don’t rule out other geographies.
